The Lauderdale-By-the-Sea beach dive is one of the most frequented dive sites in Broward County! This natural reef offers the shortest surface swim in the county, just 100 yards from the shore. There’s a reason why Broward County named Lauderdale-By-The-Sea the “Shore Dive Capital of South Florida” in 1997.
At this site, you can encounter Lobster, Eel, Nurse Sharks, Sea Turtles, Rays, Sergeant Majors, Cuttlefish, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish, French Angels, Blue Angels, Parrotfish, Doctorfish, Blue Headed Wrasse, and Tarpon. You can also see an anchor, cannons, and a ballast pile. Additionally, there is the now-defunct Biorock Project. Two dive lights and a tank marker light are required
